Horseshoe Bay is a city on the southern shore of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson, in Llano County, reaching into Burnet County. It incorporated in September 2005. The 2020 census counted 4,257 residents. The lake is a Highland Lakes reservoir on the Colorado River.

Wikipedia's summary of the city is the one this page is willing to repeat. The place is known in the region for golf courses, a hotel and resort, and water sports. It sits about 8 miles west of Marble Falls and about 50 miles northwest of downtown Austin.
The lake and the resort are different gates. Swimming, fishing, and boating are the lake. A tee time, a marina slip, or a spa booking is the resort, and the resort publishes what is actually on offer.

Best season. April through June, and September through October, for being outside. July and August are hot and the lake is busy. Winter is mild enough for golf and cold for a long swim.
